Luna

What are Luna playbooks?

Luna playbooks are pre-built AI investigations that help you complete repeatable identity and access tasks. Each playbook gives Luna a specific goal, step-by-step instructions, and a focused set of tools to stay on task.

How they work

When you run a playbook, Luna starts a chat session with a clear objective. The playbook defines what Luna should investigate, which tools it can use, and what steps to follow—so you get consistent, focused results every time.

Ploy ships with default playbooks for common tasks:

  • Shadow IT Investigation – Identify unmanaged apps and their usage

  • Access Review Investigation – Analyse access patterns for reviews

  • Offboarding Reminders – Find accounts that need deprovisioning

  • Low Usage Investigation – Spot underutilised licenses

  • Create Automation Flow – Build custom workflows with Luna's help

  • Find Owner of Resource – Track down who owns an app or account

Using playbooks

To run a playbook, select it from the playbooks list in your Luna interface. You can add extra context or questions when you start the session to tailor Luna's investigation to your specific needs.

Default playbooks are managed by Ploy and update automatically. You can also create custom playbooks for your team's unique workflows.

Benefits

Playbooks ensure Luna stays focused on the task at hand by limiting which tools it can access and providing structured steps. This makes investigations faster, more predictable, and easier to audit.
