Salto
Connect Salto to Ploy to bring your Salto Nebula access control platform into your organisation's tool inventory. Ploy connects using the Salto Nebula API and verifies your credentials with a read-only request.
The Salto integration is currently connection-only: Ploy verifies and stores the connection, but does not yet sync users, access rights, or activity from Salto into your Ploy workspace. Connecting now means your organisation is ready as syncing capabilities are added. Ploy does not make any changes in Salto.
Before you begin
You will need:
A Salto Nebula installation for your organisation.
A Client ID and Client Secret for the Salto Nebula API.
The Nebula API uses the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow, designed for machine-to-machine access. Salto does not offer self-service credential creation ā Client IDs and Client Secrets are issued by Salto directly.
Get your Salto API credentials
Contact your usual Salto technical contact or partner and request API credentials (a Client ID and Client Secret) for the Salto Nebula API.
When you receive them, store the Client Secret somewhere secure, such as a password manager. Treat it like a password.
For background on how Salto Nebula API authentication works, see Salto's developer documentation at https://developer.saltosystems.com/nebula/api/authentication/
Connect Salto to Ploy
In Ploy, go to Integrations and search for Salto.
Open the Salto integration to start the setup wizard.
In Enter your Client ID, paste the Client ID provided by Salto. This field is required.
In Enter your Client Secret, paste the Client Secret provided by Salto. This field is required.
Save the connection. Ploy authenticates with Salto and makes a read-only test request to confirm your credentials work before saving.
Once connected, the integration appears in your integrations list labelled with the date it was connected.
Updating your credentials
If Salto issues you a new Client Secret, open the Salto integration in Ploy and paste the new value into the Enter your Client Secret field. When editing an existing connection the secret is shown as unchanged ā leaving it untouched keeps the stored value, and pasting a new value replaces it.
Troubleshooting
"Failed to authenticate with Salto"
Ploy could not authenticate with your credentials. Check that:
The Client ID and Client Secret were entered exactly as Salto provided them, with no extra spaces.
The credentials are for the Salto Nebula API, not for another Salto product or portal login.
The credentials are still active ā if they have been revoked or rotated, request new ones from your Salto contact and reconnect.
If the problem persists, contact us through the in-app chat and we will help you get connected.
