Factorial

Use the Factorial integration to sync employee data into Ploy. Factorial acts as a source of truth for employee-related information, enabling you to automate identity lifecycle events such as onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.

How to set up the Factorial integration

  1. In Ploy, go to Integrations.

  2. Select the Factorial widget and click Add or Configure.

  3. Generate a new API key in Factorial:

    1. Go to https://app.factorialhr.com/settings/api-keys

    2. Create a new API key with read access to employee data.

    3. Copy the API key.

  4. In Ploy, enter your API key in the setup form.

  5. Click Authenticate to test the connection.

  6. Once authentication succeeds, click Save.

What Ploy reads from Factorial

Ploy uses the Factorial API to discover employee-related information. The integration requires read access to employee data, which Ploy uses to sync your workforce data and drive identity governance workflows.

Troubleshooting

Authentication failed

If you see an error such as "Failed to authenticate with Factorial" or "Factorial authentication failed - check API credentials", verify that:

  • The API key was copied correctly without extra spaces or characters.

  • The API key has read access to employee data in Factorial.

  • The API key is still active and has not been revoked or expired.

Regenerate the API key in Factorial if needed and re-enter it in Ploy.
