Intercom

Connect your Intercom account to Ploy to automatically sync user data and manage access to your customer communication platform.

Before you begin: You'll need admin access to your Intercom workspace to create a developer app and configure OAuth settings.

Step 1: Create an Intercom Developer App

  1. Go to the Intercom Developer Hub

  2. Sign in with your Intercom account

  3. Click New app (or navigate to Your Apps then click New app)

  4. Give the app a name (e.g., "Ploy")

  5. Select your workspace

  6. Click Create app

Step 2: Configure OAuth

  1. In your new app, go to the Authentication page in the left sidebar

  2. Under OAuth, toggle it to enabled

  3. Set the Redirect URL to:

    https://api.joinploy.com/integrations/auth/intercom/callback

  4. Click Save

Step 3: Copy your credentials

  1. Go to the Basic Information page in the left sidebar

  2. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret — you'll need these in the next step

Step 4: Connect in Ploy

  1. In Ploy, click Integrations in the left sidebar

  2. Click Add new integration and search for Intercom

  3. On page 1, paste your Client ID and Client Secret, then click Next

  4. On page 2, click Connect to Intercom — this opens an Intercom window asking you to authorize Ploy

  5. Approve the access, and you'll be redirected back to Ploy

  6. Click Test Connection to verify everything is working

Ploy will begin syncing user data from Intercom automatically.

What data syncs

Ploy imports the following from Intercom:

  • Users: All Intercom team members and their profiles

User data syncs periodically to keep Ploy's access graph up to date.
