Litmos
Connect Litmos to Ploy to see every user in your Litmos account, whether they are active or deactivated, their access level, and which teams they belong to. Ploy can also add users, change their access level, deactivate and reactivate them, remove them, and add or remove them from teams.
This integration is in beta
The Litmos integration is in beta. It was built from Litmos's API documentation and has not yet been checked against a live Litmos account, so some details may need adjusting once customers connect it. Beta does not limit what the integration can do.
The first step of setup is a consent checkbox. Ticking it lets Ploy capture redacted error data when a request to Litmos fails: the error response Litmos sends back, with personal details, keys and other secrets removed. Ploy uses it only to fix problems with this integration. You must tick the box to continue.
What Ploy reads
Every Litmos user, including deactivated users, with their name, username and email address
Whether each user is active or deactivated
Each user's access level: Learner, Team Leader, Admin or Account Owner
Every team, including sub-teams, and the active members of each team
Ploy does not read courses, learning paths, results, achievements or collections. Team Leader and Team Admin roles within a team are not scanned yet.
Before you start
API access is a paid Litmos option. Trial accounts do not have it, and an API key from an account without it is refused. Ask your Litmos account manager to enable it if needed.
You need a Litmos Account Owner. Ploy acts with that person's permissions, so the key must belong to an Account Owner to scan every user and team and to manage access.
Know which region your Litmos site is hosted in: the United States (the default), Australia or the European Union.
Find your API key in Litmos
Sign in to Litmos as an Account Owner.
Open your profile menu and choose My Profile & Settings.
Copy the API key shown there. Treat it like a password.
The key belongs to that person. If their account is deactivated or stops being an Account Owner, Ploy loses access until you paste a key from another Account Owner.
Connect Litmos in Ploy
In Ploy, open Integrations and choose Litmos.
Tick the beta consent checkbox.
Select your Litmos region.
Paste the API key.
Click Test. Ploy reads your Litmos users to check the key and region work.
Finish the setup. The first scan starts straight away.
Things to know
Deactivated users show as having lost access straight away.
Each user's access level shows as a label in Ploy. When it changes in Litmos, the label updates on the next scan.
Users added from Ploy are Learners unless the flow sets another access level. Litmos sends them its welcome email.
Deactivating a user keeps their learning history and can be undone. Removing a user deletes them permanently, and Litmos cannot recover a deleted user, so prefer deactivation for leavers.
Litmos allows 100 API requests a minute per account. Other tools using the same Litmos API key share that limit.
If you replace the API key in Litmos, update it in the Litmos connection in Ploy.
