Amplitude
Connect Amplitude to Ploy to see every member of your Amplitude organisation, including people who have been invited but have not joined yet, and which permission groups they belong to. Ploy can also invite people, remove members, and add or remove members from permission groups.
This integration is in beta
The Amplitude integration is in beta. It was built from Amplitude's API documentation and has not yet been checked against a live Amplitude organisation, so some details may need adjusting once customers connect it. Beta does not limit what the integration can do.
The first step of setup is a consent checkbox. Ticking it lets Ploy capture redacted error data when a request to Amplitude fails: the error response Amplitude sends back, with personal details, keys and other secrets removed. Ploy uses it only to fix problems with this integration. You must tick the box to continue.
What Ploy reads
Every member of your Amplitude organisation, with their name and email address
People who have been invited but have not accepted yet. Amplitude does not mark them differently, so they show as members
Every permission group, and the members of each group
Ploy does not read your analytics data, projects or charts. Project roles are not scanned yet.
Before you start
Ploy connects through Amplitude's SCIM provisioning, which is part of Amplitude's Enterprise plan. If you cannot see Provisioning Settings, ask your Amplitude account representative.
You need to be an Admin of the Amplitude organisation.
Know which region your organisation is hosted in: the United States (the default) or the European Union. If you sign in at app.eu.amplitude.com, choose the European Union.
Create a SCIM key in Amplitude
Sign in to Amplitude as an organisation Admin.
Open Organization settings, then Access and SSO Settings, then Provisioning Settings.
Set Enable SCIM Provisioning to enabled.
Click Generate SCIM Key and copy the key. Amplitude shows it only once, so treat it like a password.
If your organisation already uses SCIM with an identity provider such as Okta, generating a new key replaces the old one and stops your identity provider syncing until you update it there too. In that case, reuse the existing key if you still have it.
Connect Amplitude in Ploy
In Ploy, open Integrations and choose Amplitude.
Tick the beta consent checkbox.
Select your Amplitude region.
Paste the SCIM key.
Click Test. Ploy reads your Amplitude members to check the key and region work.
Finish the setup. The first scan starts straight away.
Things to know
Amplitude has no way to suspend a member. Removing someone from Ploy removes them from the organisation, or cancels their invitation if they have not joined.
People invited from Ploy receive Amplitude's invitation email and join with Amplitude's default access. Add them to a permission group to give them project access.
Ploy only adds existing members to permission groups. Invite a person first; Amplitude would otherwise send them an invitation when they are added to a group.
Amplitude allows 100 SCIM requests a minute per organisation. Your identity provider shares that limit if it also uses SCIM.
If you regenerate the SCIM key in Amplitude, update it in the Amplitude connection in Ploy.
